Existence of negative energies near the premises could be instrumental in imposing of bad luck for its occupants. The negative energy could be the result of some elements or objects in surroundings. Such elements or objects could be like an electric or telephone pole, water drainage, tree, cemetery, morgue, petrol pump, jail and railway track etc. Such objects at the entrance work as a secret arrows to the people residing in that house.

A solution to such a situation is to use a pa kua mirror. This octagonal pa kua has a different tri gram on  each side and a mirror at the top. It can be fixed above the entrance of the house to deflect any negative energy emanating from any object pointing towards the main door. Care should be taken to see that the  pa kua is not displayed inside the door or at any other place inside the house.

Pa kua should not be used, if there is another door of neighbour facing it. The purpose of feng shui is not to acquire benefit for self by hurting the neighbour.
